Hire and Use of The Palmerston North Leisure Centre
The appointment of a Fire Warden is a condition of the agreement for each group hiring or using an area in the Palmerston North Leisure Centre.
The hirer/user is required to nominate a Responsible Person in charge who must remain present with a cell phone on the premises in the area hired or being used by the group for the duration of the hire and be the Fire Warden in the event of a fire emergency. The Fire Warden will in turn appoint person(s) to assist with the evacuation of their area. These persons(s) can be appointed prior to the fire emergency occurring or at the time of the emergency.

On arrival of Fire and Emergency NZ meet the officer in charge of the first arriving fire appliance to advise on the status of their evacuation.
Note: The number of Fire Wardens awaiting the arrival of Fire and Emergency NZ will depend on the number of groups hiring the centre at the time.
